Upgrade Information (MSI)

Introduction

The Upgrade Information page defines the products that must be removed as part of an upgrade if the current product is installed. The page contains a list of all upgradable products. Below the list, the attributes of the currently selected upgrade are displayed.

To make a product installable as part of a major upgrade, you must do the following:

1. For each product that must potentially be upgraded, define its Upgrade code on the Installer Options page.
2. In the current product, define a new Product GUID on the Product Identification page. This GUID must be different from any of the previous versions of the product.
3. In the current product, add one or more Upgrade objects that define how previous versions of the product must be upgraded if they are present on the target system.
