Main window

The Tarma QuickInstall main window contains the usual Windows title bar, main menu, toolbar, and along the very bottom, the status bar.

• The title bar displays the name of the current project file, adding an asterisk (*) if the project has been modified.
• The menu bar contains all major commands; see Menu Reference for details.
• The toolbar contains buttons that act as shortcuts for common commands; see Toolbar buttons for details.
• The status bar currently displays only the software version and main window size.

The remaining window space is subdivided into three main areas. The left side contains the Navigation area, with bullets for each of the project's pages. If no project is currently open, it gives access to the TIN Assistant and Release Notes windows.

The right side is the Project contents area that contains the project pages. Only one page is visible at a time; to display another page, do one of the following:

• Click on one of the bullets in the Navigation area;
• Press Ctrl+PgUp or Ctrl+PgDn;
• Click on the large white arrows in the top-right corner of each page.
  

Along the bottom is the Diagnostic messages area, which displays diagnostic messages that Tarma QuickInstall produces during project checks and builds.

Page hints

When you first start Tarma QuickInstall, it has the page hints feature turned on. Page hints are small yellow notes that appear over each project page and contain tips about the page's purpose and its main features. To toggle page hints on or off, click the button on the main toolbar.

Keyboard navigation

To move from one area to the next using the keyboard, press:

• Ctrl+F6 to cycle through Navigation area - Project contents area - Diagnostic messages area
• Shift+F6 to go in the opposite direction.

The main menu equivalents are View > Go to > Next Pane and View > Go to > Previous Pane, respectively. However, most of the time you will probably just click in the area where you want to work.
