The Tarma QuickInstall Setup program is called Setup.exe. After installation, a copy of it is present in the <AppFolder> installation folder, where it serves as the uninstaller. Occasionally, this causes confusion because most people expect the uninstaller to be called Uninstall.exe or something similar.
Background - Tarma QuickInstall's Setup.exe program can run in three ways:
So, in contrast to most other installers, there is only one executable and no separate Uninstall.exe.
The Tarma Setup 1.x programs originally renamed themselves to Uninstall.exe to reflect option 3. However, the same Setup program can also be used to repair existing installations (see 2) and current Microsoft guidelines suggest that Setup programs should always be named Setup.exe (or Install.exe, which isn't any less confusing). Furthermore, recent versions of Windows (2000, XP, 2003) recognize the name Setup.exe as something special and automatically offer Run As Other User, which is very useful for both installation and removal.
On balance, therefore, Tarma QuickInstall uses a single Setup.exe name. To reduce the potential confusion, the Setup program marks itself as Hidden and System after installation, so most users won't even notice its presence or name. If you really want to use a different name, you can do so; see Installing multiple applications to the same <AppFolder>.
